Kareri Lake near Dharamshala and Mcleodganj in Himachal Pradesh is at an altitude of 2950 metres above sea level. It is a shallow fresh water lake, which lies within Dhauladhar Range of Himalayas. Dhauladhars act as a water source for this lake owing to melting of snow. Trail until Kareri Lake is through forest of Silver Oak, Pines and Rhododendron trees. Kareri Lake trek is a paradise for a first time trekker. It is a nice alternative to Triund trek, which on weekends remain overcrowded due to to huge inflow of tourists and trekkers
Trip Iternary
We arrange pickup from Dharamshala at 6:30 AM. Dharamshala is around 10 kms from McLeodganj. 27 kms of journey from Dharamshala to Kareri village takes about 1.5 hours. Trek starts by 10 AM after our trek lead gives a brief round of introduction and instructions. As we start the trek, we pass through beautiful farms and slate roof houses. Initial trek of 2 kms is through under construction road. The forest trail starts after taking right turn from bridge on this road. Stay and meals in Rioti Camp site.

Day starts with morning tea at 7. We start trek towards Kareri Lake by 10 AM. We plan to Reach Kareri Lake by 2 PM. Terrain is similar as on first day with lesser trees. 4.5 kms trek from Rioti until Kareri Lake takes around 3-4 hours. This day’s trek is through beautiful surroundings and besides many small waterfalls. Kareri Lake is located at an altitude of 2950 metres. Interested people can go to Gajj or visit Lord Shiva Temple. Gajj is a local term, which means a flat area. It is at 20 minutes hike from the lake and is located towards east of Kareri Lake. Kareri Lake also serves as the base camp for Minkiani Pass and Lam Dal. Stay and meals in camps.

This is a comparatively longer day but an easy day as we descend the entire route of 13 kms. Day starts at 7 AM. Post that, if time and weather permits, we try to have brief yoga and meditation sessions. Trek starts by 9 AM from Kareri Lake towards Kareri Village using same route that we used while ascending. We plan to reach Kareri village by 4:30 PM. From Kareri village, we move in pre-arranged cabs towards Dharamshala. We plan to reach Dharamshala Bus Stand by 7 PM.

  • Expenses incurred due to any factors beyond our control like natural calamities, Heavy Snow Fall, landslides, political Insurgencies, Strike etc.
  • Travel insurance & Rescue Cost is not Include in the packages Cost
  • All present applicable taxes are included but if any changes occur in present tax structure then the difference will be charged to the clients accordingly.
  • Standard check-in time at the hotel is normally 2:00 pm and check-out is 11:00 am. An early check-in or a late check- out is solely based on the discretion of the hotel.
  • Entrance fee, parking and guide charges are not included in the packages.
  • Itinerary once booked will not be modified. In case any changes would be required then clients need to check with the tour executives and any charges applicable will be paid by the clients.
  • Transportation shall be provided as per the itinerary and will not be at disposal.
  • In case of unavailability in the listed hotels, arrangement for an alternate accommodation will be made in a hotel of similar category.
  • Children below 5 years are complimentary sharing parent’s bed. (Milk/Food for infant below 5 years is chargeable and amount can be paid at the hotel).
  • The booking price does not include: Expenses of personal nature, such as laundry, telephone calls, room service, alcoholic beverages, mini bar charges, tips, portage, camera fees etc.
  • Most of the hotels do not have escalators installed at the premises. So if there’s any request of escalators then please do check with us prior confirming your booking.
  • AC will not be functional anywhere in hilly areas in the vehicles.
  • AC / fan will not be available in the hotels in hilly areas so please check with us if you have any such request before confirming your booking.
  • Glacial Adventures will not be responsible for any cancellation happens in the land arrangements due to any factors beyond our control like natural calamities, political insurgencies, strikes etc.
BOOKING CONFIRMATION:
  • For Package confirmation you need to deposit 50% Payment. We will issue the booking voucher only at the receipt of 50% Payment. Guest will have to make 100% payment before 30 days of arrival. Otherwise booking will be considered as Cancelled. (Please do email the screenshot of the mode of advance payment for our records).
PREPONE AND POSTPONE:
  • For postpone / pre-pone of tour packages are to be communicated in written and need to be inform us at least 7 days prior of tour date.
  • INR 3000/- will be charged extra for pre-pone / postpone.
  • If the Client is willing to amend or cancel his/her booking because of whatsoever reasons including death, accident, illness, or any other personal reasons including non-payment of the balance payment, the Company is liable to recover Cancellation charges from the Client.
  • All cancellations are to be communicated in written and advance amountisnon-refundable, besides the forfeiture of the deposit amount of the tour.
There will be no refund for NO SHOWS.
  • However, if any of the amendment requests results in cancellation of one or more services, then the Company is liable to recover cancellation charges as indicated in the above mentioned table.
  • Any amendment in the original booking has to be given to us in writing.All changes will be processed only after the receipt ofthe same by the Company.
  • The above mentioned cancellation charges are applicable only against the main Tour and optional tours published by the Company. If the Client has booked any other services such as air / train tickets or any third party product, then the Company is liable to recover cancellation charges as per cancellation terms of respective airline / railways or the cancellation terms of respective third party.
  • The Company is also liable to recover its service charges against booking and cancelling such services for the Client.
Further charge will be levied as follows:
  • 30 days prior to departure of the tour, advance amount is non-refundable, advance will be charged.
  • 30 days to 15 days prior to departure ofthe tour 50% of total tour cost.
  • 14 days to 07 days prior to departure of the tour 75% of total tour cost.
  • 07 days to 01 days prior to departure of the tour 100% of total tour cost.
Jurisdiction:
  • All disputes arising out of or in connection with the tour packages booked through Glacial Adventures Pvt. Ltd. / GTrip Travel Agency shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts and tribunals located at Manali / Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh, India.
